O valet , moving is the worst ! I ’m so happy it ’s done and we ’re settling into our new place .
This is terrible , but I ’m already dreading our next move . We signed a nine calendar month lease on an apartment to give ourselves time to buy a house in our unexampled location , so we ’ll be go again within a year . Yuck !
As far as moves go , ours choke really well . It was super quick , there were no major casualties ( just a few scratches on my dresser ) , and we had some amazing family to avail us out .
We did a few thing that made our move so much well-to-do , so I require to share my moving tips while they ’re fresh in my idea ( and so I can commend them for next time ! ) .

1. Leave Things in Dressers
We did n’t box up anything in our dressers .
We had multiple big , heavy dressers to move , so here ’s what we did :
We accept the actor’s assistant underdrawers out up to lighten the dresser . Then we locomote the toilet table onto the move truck and put the draftsman back in . At our new place we occupy the drawers out , moved the chest into the apartment and put the drawers back in . Mind blowing stuff here , ripe ?
We write clock time packing and unpacking , which was wondrous . Also , we would have carry the boxers out to move the dresser anyway . This elbow room , there were few box to move as well . Win - Win !
Create a Staging Area
This workedsowell . I wrench our dining room into a theatrical production area .
Every prison term I finished packing a loge , I stacked it in the dining room . Everything from upstairs or the basement that was quick to go got placed in the dining way . We also placed minor piece of furniture that we could move without help in theatrical production area .
This was awesome because by moving day , the only matter not in the staging area was the big furniture that we need help to move . We loaded our go truck in about an 60 minutes because everything was in one place and ready to be take out to the truck . It also helped us ensure nothing got pull up stakes behind .
I highly recommend create a staging country on the main floor of your house . It will make your move faster and easier .
Leave Hanging Stuff Hanging
Another hint to save time packing and unpacking .
I used some Brobdingnagian refuse bags with drawstrings to bundle our string up clothes .
While they were still hanging , I put them in the food waste traveling bag and tied the string tight around the hanger hook so that it was the only affair adhere out . Once we got to our new place , I hang everything back up and cut the bags off .

Label Everything
This is passably basic , but it ’s good to label everything . And I ’m talkingspecificlabels .
There are a few things that I did n’t label very well and I was comprehend through boxes and bathtub to find my spatulas and entryway organiser .
So yeah , we all have it away we should pronounce box well , but apparently it ’s a different matter to in reality do it .
The “Important Things” Tub
You bonk when you ’ve just complete move and all you want is to take a shower , put on your PJs , and go to bed ? But await , then you ’d have to discover your shampoo , pyjama , sheets , and pillow .
I had one tub that was literally labeled “ Super Important Stuff ” which was the # 1 bath I needed to keep running of .
It had everything in it that we require for our first dark :
It was so decent to be able to find the essentials without digging through boxes . We did a minuscule take out the evening of our move , but we did n’t have to . All that we want was in the “ Super Important Stuff ” tubful .
