Well , allergies have been kicking our butts this year . Mine have n’t been too uncollectible ( except for when I spread straw on our G last workweek to taste to grow some locoweed and I conceive I ’m super allergic to chaff ) , but Austin has had ahorribletime with allergies which have plow into sinus vexation , and then sinus infections .
He takes allergy medicine all yr round , but there have been days and weeks this summertime where it has n’t been enough .
Since we do n’t want to add even more medicine into the mix , we ’ve been trying a lot of home cure to help with allergies and fistula infections .
Here ’s what we ’ve found : You have to recover what works for you .
Unfortunately , it seems like kind of a trial and mistake affair . Some family remedies that others rely by did nothing . Also , consistency is important . Keep trying .
I ’d also like to mention that this billet can be used as a drunkenness or exercise game ( though probably not both at the same time ) . Every time you take the Scripture “ mucous secretion ” , you must do a shot or 5 squats . Your call . Mucus . Gross .
Steam Your Face
The affair that helps Austin ’s allergy and venous sinus infection more than anything else is steam his facial expression .
Basically , we churn some water , pour it into a roll , and he leans over the trough , breathing in the steam with a towel cloak over his head to keep the steam in . He does this for about five minutes each clock time .
When he had a sinus infection , he did it about three time a daylight . It serve to relax the mucous secretion catch in the sinuses .
To really make it effective , we add a duad of drops ofeucalyptus essential oilto the hot water . The aroma really opens up the adenoidal passages .
The Sniff Box
I found this musical theme on Pinterest and we call it the “ sniff box ” .
We have a diminutive container ( a mini food storage container with a good eyelid ) that we put a few cotton balls in , enough to cover the bottom of the container . Then we bring multiple drops of various indispensable oil to the cotton plant ball .
The smell of the essential oils really opens up the sinuses and give some temporary relief to the pressure .
The formula we use is :
10 dropsEucalyptus oil
10 dropsLemon oil
10 dropsPeppermint oil
He takes a few deep breath as he ask it throughout the day . When the smell does n’t seem as potent any longer after a few days or week , we refresh it with more drops or replace the cotton wool orb and start out fresh .
Honey
Ok , I ’m not sure if this really help because we did it at the same time as a few other things .
Honey has antibacterial prop to it , and the thinking is that it will help a fistula infection because there are bacteria forming in the mucous secretion stuck in your venous sinus . Something like that . I ’m not a doctor or scientist .
at any rate , I had my fella salute tea with honey in it a few time a 24-hour interval when he had a sinus infection and he did get better soon after that .
Lots of Fluids
Lots and lot of water can aid keep your sinuses moist and lose weight out the mucus wedge in there .
Spicy Food
This was kind of funny . I read that spicy food can help gain the sinuses and Austin was in such bad shape that he buy a jar of ghost pepper salsa . He says it help oneself . His mouth was on attack , though , so for a little while , he had bigger concerns than his sinuses .
So you might just be replacing one problem with another , but it does work .
Wash the Dog
Unfortunately , Mozzie has also suffered as a solution of our allergies and sinus upshot .
He has catch a lot more baths than normal because he roll out in the railway yard and brings in all kinds of allergen on his fluff .
Since he sleep on our bed and sits on our laps , we ’ve made sure to clean him up a few times a calendar week .
