curious story : We in reality grease one’s palms the first house we saw ! When we saw the planetary house , I like it a lot but we were newfangled to the area and did n’t have anything to compare it to . We spent months reckon at scores of sign of the zodiac after this one . The theater had multiple sale fall through and was back on the market when we determine to put an offer in .
House shopping was really hard this prison term around .
With our first house , we lived in a bantam town and had a tiny budget . We literally buy the only planetary house we could give . We did n’t care much about the neighborhood because there were n’t really bad part of town .
This time , we moved to a much self-aggrandising city for Austin ’s piece of work and had a backbreaking time narrow down our ideal emplacement . There are multiple shoal districts here , some way substantially than others . There are super unsafe area to survive in . And of row the good areas with near schools are crazy expensive .
We do n’t have kids yet , but the schooltime district around here have a lot to do with a home value and resale possibilities , so it ’s something we had to keep in nous .

So besides it being fun , here ’s why I need to post a tour of our young mansion : We ’ve stimulate plans to do some major organizing as well as making some money save updates .
I thought posting a family turn would be a good elbow room to have a “ before ” so I ’ve have something to compare the “ after ” to once we make some of these variety .
I snagged this exterior pic from the list since everything is pretty brown and sloppy outside this time of year . I ’m looking ahead to seeing the star sign look more like this !
It ’s a mid - century modern ranch with a walkout basement under half of it .
I love these living way window ! We ’re still make up one’s mind how to compensate them ( for concealment ) without ruining the look of them . I ’m leaning towards some energy efficient honeycomb spook since the windows are pretty old .
One of the most difficult features to regain was an open floor architectural plan .
Most of the houses in the just neck of the woods we could afford were erstwhile and did n’t have an open layout . This was one of the few that did , plus it had the nice kitchen we saw .
That backsplash with those counters is not a large look . I ’ll modify that out finally , but I ’m extremely excited to have so much counter space and store .
I have n’t cooked much in our flat but I think I ’ll enjoy spend a lot of sentence in this kitchen .
Super xanthous …
There are three bedrooms . The pics are fairly rough because it was acquire dark out and there are n’t any Light Within in the bedrooms , so sorry about that .
The picture below is the sleeping room that ’s going to be ours . I ’m planning on paint it a lighter color to make it front a bit large .
The bedroom closet are all super diminutive , so I ’m on the lookout for ways to organize our clothes .
There ’s a half - bath in the basement , which I favour to describe as “ hick ” 🙂 I think Austin has some big plan to make a full , much courteous bathroom in its stead .
There ’s also a big finished way in the cellar .
We ’re plan on turning this into a various area that can be used as an office for me , a place for guests to stay , and just a general hang - out orbit .
So that ’s our newfangled house !
We ’ve got a ton of minor - ish projects that we project to tackle as we save up the money for them .
I ’ll be posting about some of the ways we get our stuff organized and when we do things that will save us money in the longsighted run .
